Katherine Price works as a lyric soprano under the tutelage of Dinah Harris.
She graduated MMus from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2001 and, since then, has performed various roles, most notably an outstanding performance, in 2005, of Musetta in Puccini's La Boheme with Opus 1 Music Ltd. In July 2004 she performed the role of Queen Isabella in the British Premiere of Philip Glass' The Voyage.
Katherine has also worked in more contemporary settings. In 2004 she was the vocal soloist for puppeteers FaultyOptic; this was in an Opera North commissioned tour and included performances in Holland as well as performances at venues such as the Linbury Studio, Covent Garden and the Battersea Arts Centre.
In 2007 Katherine worked with Opera Holland Park for a second season, singing in the chorus for Verdi's Nabucco, Janacek's Jenufa, Verdi's La Traviata and Montemezzi's L'amore dei tre Re.
Katherine has also established a reputation and thriving business as a singing teacher in West London.
Katherine sang Richard Strauss' Vier Letze Lieder with the University of Manchester Sinfonietta in February 2008 and performed with Grange Park Opera for their 2008 production of Offenbach's Blue Beard. Most recently Katherine sang in the chorus for the 2008 Buxton G&S Festival in their productions of The Gondoliers and Iolanthe.
In March 2009 Katherine will sing the role of Anna in Operatique's performance of Donizetti's Maria Stuarda.
